Job description:

The purpose of the role and your unique contribution is to develop and implement natural peril pricing models and insights for the purpose of reinsurance modelling, peril pricing and major event response. You’ll also be assisting to run peril models for reinsurance renewals and to assist with the team’s fulfilment of modelling governance controls and standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement natural peril pricing models and understand how the model results relate to claims experience
  • Assist with modelling for reinsurance renewals
  • Assist with the team’s governance processes such as modelling standards, model monitoring and risk controls
  • Keep abreast of product coverage changes and working with data lead to understand impacts and resolve data and mapping issues
  • Assist in the preparation of and respond to upcoming and recent natural disasters that significantly affect IAG’s portfolio

Skills & Experience

  • Strong knowledge of statistical learning methodologies including GLMs and Extreme Value theory
  • Familiarity in delivering pricing solutions to stakeholders
  • Experience in insurance data reporting and analytics
  • Experience in data and statistical software packages (R, SAS, Python)
  • Tertiary qualification/s in a relevant discipline such as statistics, finance, actuarial sciences, data analytics or computer science.
